Don't forget Gallaudet, Clerc and many great Deaf leaders out there.

Many hearing educators, parents, and doctors need to be reminded not to forget Gallaudet, Clerc and many great Deaf Leaders. The Deaf Role model is the key to the Deaf/HH Children of the next generation.

Hi,

Gallaudet was hearing, not Deaf.

Diane said that Galladuet was hearing, anonymous.

Plus we can exhort them not to forget FAILURES of Pereire, Braidwood, Watson, H-whatever (from German-type country back then), and all other early oralists that clearly failed because all of their pupils always either ended up being a failure in the society or signing their sign language instead of using speech skills.

David -- thanks clarification about the percentage of Oralism. My apology for saying Canada -- oops. Ontario -- Yeah must do something about it. Smile

David... Ontario sounds like St. Louis, Missouri. I don't know what percentage of deaf children is oral in St. Louis, but I am betting it is as high as Ontario's, due to St. Louis having three oral schools for the deaf.
