Smoke/Fire Alarm-As a Deaf teen, I slept thru the night at my hearing family home!
As a Deaf young oralist- many years ago, my family did not wake me in middle of the night when the alarm went off. I asked one of my sisters why didn't they wake me. She said it is only a false alarm due to the dying batteries and they didn't want to wake me up. I was not too happy about this. Sigh ... The reason is why I brought this up because I recently read the article about the parents who forgot their OWN son took their pets outside of their burning home. Luckily their son is okay. It reminds me of my own experience. Anyone share this experience similiar to mine?

That is not easy for that thru sleep during nap or night but still never know will happen no matter what cause fire alarm. Depend on who people can wake up or thru sleep isn't easy. I agree with you make digisting that happen. Your sister should get you wake up then to out. Don't expecting can't hear or smell either. Or somepeople forgot leave-out someone in house...still not easy.
