Hi There

Hey -- it is me -- this is my second note. Today is Mother's Day. The weather isn't that great. No sun is here. A mentor of mine is not coming to my home today because she is out sick. Bummer. I am heading to my family's house for a short then zoom to my art studio. My soothing place or safe haven. Been thinking of which town I prefer to live in. It is not easy thou. Well I have to get going. Later, Diane

What is Life?

My life is kinda edgy. I haven't decided where to start yet. I just got home from the Cambridge hospital and my trip from DC last week. I easily get overwhelmed by many small errands. I cannot handle this easily sometimes. Today is okay because I was forced to do the bills and others otherwise I will get overwhelmed easily. It hasn't been easy because as you know I have a severe procrastinator. Even I have the ADD as well. I also have a BPD and it sucks. I will not disclose the full term. I am so shame to share this everyone. I did not chose this diagnosis. It happens to be me. Stigma is very dangerous and strong as well, especially in the Deaf Community. It is the most complicated diagnosis of all and no one wants to hang with those who have BPD. I don't want to lose my friends. Will my Deaf and Hearing friends, FB buddies, and family understand this? Probably not. Gonna sign off for now.

The Sad Outcome of DVTV (Artwork Enclosed)

My local friend encouraged me to join the DeafRead.com.  The DeafRead website completely floored me, I hadn't expected to see many wonderful Deaf/HH b/vloggers. I truly love it. Ever since, I have enjoyed reading the various topics. Many various and challenging topics inspire me.  It keeps me occupied and even make new few friends.  A few months later, I had learned that DVTV coming up. I had decided to join the DVTV too!  I have met many various people from all over the place.  Wow!  It is a worthwhile and educating experience. This year, I am extremely concerned and sad because the DVTV has been deteriorated.  My friend who is the one suggested me to join the DeafRead.  He is extremely disappointed in me how much I have changed.  I am just a regular viewer like many others. I only want to express my own perspective. My concern is that some people may think I make a new friend with the specific person just because I like her/his opinion. It's not what you think.  For example: I personally dislike the person however I only enjoy his/her interesting topics.  I have always have been very careful in surrounding by many various Deaf/HH from all over the world. It hasn't been easy. Today I have made a very few friends through the DeafRead and DVTV.

I truly feel sorry for Tayler who sacrifices his own personal time to contribute this to the Deaf Community.  I am not sure Tayler gets paid for doing this. Please be kind to him.  If you aren't satisfied with Tayler's decision.  You are obliged to leave his website by your choice. As I made a vlog earlier "Make a Choice" at the DVTV. I want to emphasize that I do not encourage you to leave the DVTV.  Let's hope for the peace and unity.
Well I am leaving for good anyway.
Best Regards, Diane

The 3 years old Iraqi boy who has lost his hearing comes to U.S. for surgery

An Interesting Article
I wish the young Iraqi boy is well. He has lost her hearing due to the heavy attacks. As a Deaf person, I personally don't support CI however I wish him and his family well. Must be hard for them going through. CNN news report today. January 2, 2009

Each town has provided the Community Continuing Education. Deaf instructors and participants should be hired because it is fun and affordable.

I've always wanted to take some fun classes of the Community Continuing Education in my home area because it is affordable. The problem is the town who will not be getting interpreter(s) because of the heavy expense. I am aware of the ADA. It is depends on each town's budget. I know there is a Deaf person in my area who has taught ASL to the hearing participants for almost 10 years. How about the Deaf instructors who can teach various fun courses to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing participants only? I can make the announcement thru the Deaf network. The class is fun and affordable! I will check it out with the town hall or high school in my area. Diane

Would like to hear from Deafread editors and Tayler about RR's

I had watched some of the vlogs (at Deafvideo.tv) about RR's being banned from the Deafread.com and Deafvideo.tv.  I would like to hear directly from the DeafRead editors and Tayler about RR's being banned from the both sites .  I haven't seen any proof that he is banned or not. Yes, RR can be very treacherous to many of us.  We need to be aware of his unacceptable behaviors. Thanks ..

Hearing Signing Psychologist(s) should write the Deaf Mental Health books?

For Deaf psychologists Candance McCullough and Sharon Duchesneau. Again many Deaf/HH vloggers too.

Do you think the hearing signing psychologist(s) should write the books about the Deaf Mental health? What do you think? In my opinion, I don't think it is a good idea because ........ here is my vlog concerning comment. Any comments if you already read his book(s). I will NOT read his books and never will.  Any questions or inputs -- ask away!

Both are hearing signing psychologists. Also, you can search their name through the Google.com

A young hearing girl and I chatted thru her little notebook..

...... while we were on the plane on way here to Boston from Kentucky in 2004.   Won't throw out the note that she gave me. I won't forget the moments we had while we were on plane. I don't know her name but she is only 8 or 9 and has a curly hair.

The "Cold Case" show -- I am not satisfied.

Where are the Deaf teachers?
Where is the certified interpreter?
Hearing signing teacher interprets? Wrong!
Hearing people are talking without signing while Deaf parents are in the same room with them!
Cochlear Implant is an heavy issue for the Deaf Community. Put this CI issue on side and focus on something positive!
This is my 2 1/2 cents! Smile

One more thing ......
The Deaf students are treated differently!!

Experienced with the Deaf person who has CI

Currently working with the Deaf person who has CI offered to interpret for me and our instructor only if the certified interpreters are not available. He graduated from Gallaudet a year ago or two. He is a nice guy!
