You know, I realize now I am drawing a blank on my speech therapists. There were a number of them, but I can recall two men for certain. One was not a good man at all. The second one I remember was my last one, the one who would play background noise on a tape recorder while doing our sessions. But I barely remember them now...which is interesting. I mean, I remember the lessons, the tedium, the annoyances, but the faces have faded away.

lol One of my cats love to get attention. Her pah. Of course I feed my kids twice a day! Renoir is sooo fat and lazy! Monet is very active and hyper! I get a lot of love from them today because it is a Mother's Day! ;-)
Well, I did have one male speech teacher. It was during my last year in high school. He was awful. We never did have any actual speech lessons. He always brought porno stuff for us (there were only two guys in my class, me and my friend, Billy, the rest of them are girls) He always encouraged us to talk about sex which at that time was the coolest subject. Talk about us being 16 and 17 at that time. He brought lots of porno magazine for us to keep! It was AWESOME (at that time) As I graduated and went to college, I learned that one year later, he was caught with his pants down and a female student on her knees. Needless to say, he was fired, reprimanded, went to court, lost his wife and children and once he got out of the prison, he committed suicide.
Yes.. unusual. I had a male therapist but unfortunately, it was unpleaant experience. He was a child molester.. very handsome and neat looking man but loved to touch girls. Especially one to one basis is often happened in this country. Parents need to be aware of it.
I know it is not related to speech therapist but I had a male teacher for my first preschool. He was very nice and kind teacher. I have not yet seen a male preschool teacher yet.

MIkey, Your teacher had no choice but had to commit suicide because it is hard for him not to molest young kids again. I hope he didnt do anything to you and the rest of the students .. but he got caught having a sex with a young female student. tsk tsk ....

Yep, I had my first male speech therapist in my senior year. He was the best one of all as our sessions usually just focused on conversations using my voice and then he would just look for areas where I was weak in and give tips on how to make the sounds right. Sometimes we would read something aloud and then talk about it. Pretty unconventional compared to all the others I had.
I had a speech therapist when I was about 11 years of age. Mum couldn't figure out why I suddenly had a slight lisp. until she turned up at the session.. yep male speech therapist had a lisp!!!
I agree, CORI is important and still, better than having none! He did not molest me or my friend Billy because we're seniors and we're really big guys... he was grooming us to support him doing stuff. He was into girls fortunately for us. Even my gal friends who were seniors, he didn't touch them, keeping his hands to himself... the one he got caught was a freshmen girl... sad, I hope that victim is doing okay these days...
