Hearing signing teacher interprets? Wrong!
Hearing people are talking without signing while Deaf parents are in the same room with them!
Cochlear Implant is an heavy issue for the Deaf Community. Put this CI issue on side and focus on something positive!

The show is so screwed up showing that it is ok to use an "interpreter" from the school and broke the code of ethics. Her speaking to the police in front of Deaf parents is giving the message that it is ok and that they can lipread everything what they said.
Lack of exposing Deaf teachers is another thing! The show is not portraying a normal Deaf life!
I am an ASL student, hearing and have many Deaf friends. I watched cold case with my husband and was very dissatisfied with it. The writers really do not have a clue. There were no interpreters, especially when police are questioning a suspect. Hello civil rights!! I usually like Cold Case, but not this one.
I also did not like that the camera didn't show all of the signing.
As a hearing interpreting student I was very upset with the interpreter too. She was not interpreting a few times was because they could lip read. Which was another part of the story that made me very angry. All the Deaf could lip read. As we all know that is not true! What made me happy was then the boy yelled at the interpreter to shut up and let him speak.
